Hi Beth

Unfortunately the screencasts were made at work and most video sharing sites are blocked. I have copies of the demonstration casts here at home and am in the process of uploading them. I will add them to this post in the very near future.

Sorry for the delay in replying - no excuses: just plain slack.

Sue - Thanks for that. I hadn't looked at it that way. Guess its easy to assume that, as I am so new to this, anything I am reading is a part of the "Mainstream" diet for others.

Jeanette - thanks for the supportive words.
(had more here, but was getting a bit too long - guess what? Its now going to be a post. I may actually be getting the hang of this).

Lance - It's interesting how we proceed in our use of these tools. It doesn't surprise me that you've struggled with your perspective on blogging, as I suspect any thoughtful blogger likely has done so. It's a tool, and like any tool, there are times blogging will be useful, and times it won't. Looking forward to continuing to hear from you - whether daily, weekly, monthly, whatever. :)

Well the other thing you need to remember is that not everyone will read the same posts as you so we also need to say things. If someone has already posted on a similar topic I just try to add a different slant to the topic. For example, Sarah in NZ wanted to know quick and easy ways to find images so when I read Hey Jude's post that gave tips I added an extra dimension to the topic.

You might want to read Librarian Matters post on blog fodder - may give you some strategies that will help.

Hi Sue
Sorry to hear that I am not the only one in this situation. Every time I have come up with something, I end up reading a blog post from someone who says it better, and I really don't want to rehash someone else's posts (well .. not too often anyway, given that I did just that with Michele on my last post).

Hi Lance -- I soooo know how you are feeling right now. I have massive blogger writing block. Absolutely no idea where to start which is so unlike me. So I am really looking forward to your posts because hopefully it will give me back my blogging licence. If not at least I will be able to come past and post comments.

PS if you can think of topics you would like to read me post about please let me know

Hi Sue
I couldn't agree more, especially with the making sure people know what you stand for/believe in. Too many aspiring leaders believe that you can bluff the walk: unfortunately they underestimate the natural built in "BS meter" that most people have. It's no good trying to role model a belief that you don't aspire/adhere to. Few will follow insincerity with any sincerity.
Also, thanks for the twitter link to John Connell's page: some very simple yet vital concepts there: five minutes reading, but a lifetime of growth.
